I’m running NC 28.0.11 on an Odroid C2. Odroid C2 does not support PHP >8.0.27. NC 28 requires at least PHP 8.1. So, I’m lost. I should not have updated in the first place
By now I’m getting error messages:
[core] Fehler: Exception thrown: Doctrine\DBAL\Exception
GET /core/preview?fileId=1082300&x=32&y=32&mimeFallback=true&a=0
von 91.46.186.143 von – um 02.11.2024, 20:28:28.
I believe this tells me something about my mysql databank and PHP. (But I’m not sure)
So, I’m deadlocked.
I’ve a BU (a spare eMMC) of NC 27.16 which is still happy with PHP 8.0.27 on my Odroid C2.
Using this old but secure system would give me peace until I find a suitable new machine
Using this outdated system with my by now changed database would probably function or certainly crash my system??
Please advice. I’m a dummy
Thank you
NC28 still works with 8.0. See System requirements — Nextcloud latest Administration Manual latest documentation (the Updater would not have allowed you to update otherwise).
Without seeing the full exception I cannot say. But most commonly it means your database service isn’t running.

If you are proposing running an old version of Nextcloud against an already upgraded database, that is not possible. If you really wanted to downgrade, the official approach is to restore from a backup.
Thank you! Your answer
NC28 still works with 8.0.
is correct (I checked the documentation) and at least somewhat soothing.
So, I will pretend, that there ist still some time…
Thank you
What operating systems and version? Maybe you can or must change it.
My cloud operates on a Debian system.
Thanks for your interest.
Ben
It would be interesting to know the Debian version and also whether you can update the operating system and/or the PHP version at all. It seems that this is not possible.
