(maybe the wrong theme, none really fit, sorry if I am stepping in it…)
I write because we have started a new, volunteer organisation i Denmark (around nonviolent peacework) with the goal of becoming a meeting and cooperation point for 1.000+ members.
First thing is to design our TO-BE digital infrastructure and software-landscape. For us to go towards TO-BE with every small step we take. And we are about to have enough funds now to start building the system for member administration and a website. But want to have a TO-BE in sight where the association has it’s own entire system for members to join, to make sure we are not depending on personal accounts and licences. And that we collab in a secure and standardised way.
We would like to use NextCloud (and the services attached to it) based on our association’s values, but we have no experience and are semi-tech-savy our selves. Might there be someone out there who would like to join the design and development discussion in order to assist us in making good decisions?
We do have somewhat of an idea of a design, but not all pieces. And we will probably need help from a supplier (in Denmark) until we have a sufficient volunteer IT-working group. I hope for that in three years time. But here are some of the things we have talked about:
- Server placement at Hetzner
- Nextcloud (all that is supporting our organisation and activities)
- CiviCRM (member and activity administration)
- Wordpress (webpage design)
- Some kind of database to integrate with website to build three small, easy searchable knowledge bases for the website.
Anyone who would like to join as an advisor or tips-giver? For whatever time you would like to put in it!
Regards
