Hello, i just registered to this forum, to ask for a better way to get Dev support from Nextcloud.
The case is that we are a professional migration software company, for migrating to the Microsoft platform. Because of the geopolitical situation, we are extending our software, to migrate from Microsoft to Nextcloud.
Our CTO asked multiple questions (mostly technical/dev/API) to Nextcloud, so we can finish a good product, but Nextcloud is never responding. But when there is good migration software to Nextcloud, there are a big winner too of course. How many governments and companies wants to leave Microsoft in the near future…?
Now i’m trying to find out, what we are doing wrong in this communication. How will communication works and how will questions be answered? Do we have to ask them on this forum? Is there a special ticket box for external companies? etc..
Please can you help me? The CTO wants to stop this project and i want to remain.
In general, you can order enterprise support with them (as tflidd linked) and I am sure they will come back with answers. If not, please come back.
If you are willing to develop yourself, the NC company might or might not get involved. This depends on what you might expect from them. In fact, most apps in the playstore are community apps. Thus, we are working using the official sources to get our stuff done. If you posted your concrete technical answers, maybe we (the community) can help or point you in the correct direction.
Our migration software can already migrate metadata to Text fields, Comment fields and Modified fields, so we still have a lot to do. Microsoft has a lot more field types. Thats why we also creating a new Custom Properties app to contribute right now. Otherwise SharePoint and Nextcloud are not compatible enough.
Hi @TheoNL_BE_HU, if you have specific needs concerning your data migration, you may require freelances specialized on Nextcloud environment. There is a “Freelance” section in this forum.
Concerning the fiedls, since NC28, there are metadata associated with files. But until now, they are under-used by Nextcloud core itself. You’ll probably need one dedicated app to manipulate or search data. On this subject, you can also require on the Freelance forum, or talk directly with me if you want (i’m a freelance ).
