Desktop client is not uploading files to shared folders due to quota issues

Hi there,

following application: NC community edition V34.0.2 with about 70 users. All users except one have just 1kB quota, because they shall use only shared folders from the one user.

Since updating the Windows desktop client V34.0.1, the client is no longer uploading files with marking all new files in the client window with the message “Platz nicht ausreichend” (means not enough space). After a couple of tests I realized, that the user’s quota setting is acting like a file size limit, when uploading files to any shared folder. I verified that with different file sized and quota settings.

I’m note if this bug is caused by the client or the server, because I updated more or less both together. I guess it’s caused by the client.

That doesn’t make any sense to me, that this is a feature and not a bug. Because after successfully uploading the file to a shared foled, this file is still counted to the owner of the share and not to the one, who uploaded the file. So this is working just in the moment of trying to upload the file.

Maybe someone could confirm that behavior and opening a bug report on the git repository.

Cheers,

Armin

I just realized that there are two error messages in the server log. So maybe it is more about the server than the client? Not sure:

Fehler | webdav | EntityTooLarge Platz nicht ausreichend
Fehler | no app in context | NotEnoughSpaceExceptionException thrown: OCP\Files\NotEnoughSpaceException

Think about to use team folder (before named groupfolder). There is a dedicated quota-managemend for those folders.
