I want share a video in nextcloud file.
I upload the video and in the sharing link option I disable the download.
Now I test the shared link and all is good: the video cannot be downloaded but there is a way to download it by finding the download URL that I’m able to get from the page source.
If in the sharing option the download is disabled, can be also the download link be disabled? This is not too hard to be found on the page source and it allow the direct download of the video.
The URL with the download address is necessary for view the video in the page or can be disabled by you in an update or with some fix?
While I created this discussion I find another interesting discussion that is this one: Disable force file download on public link
Here the title is good but reading the topic what the user asked is different but I find interesting read a reply that show two different link for open a PDF: one is for the view and another one is for the download.
So I suppose currently disabling the download just disable the button to download but a link to download the video is still present and works on the source code of the page. Can this link to be disabled as seems (if I’m not wrong) to be a link managed by the PHP that also report the download indication in the URL so seems to be a download URL, can be this give 403 error when download has been disabled and this link is loaded in the browser?
Can I suggest, if possibile to implement this?
This is the right place where asking the implementation?
Thank you.
