This issue has ocurred in the past in a native installation and now on the snap as well. Searching for it reveals this issue has been around for years so if someone can find a permanent fix it would be appreciated.
Here is the issue:
Suddenly earlier today sync started failing for a user with the error " [Invalid private key for encryption app. Please update your private key password in your personal settings to recover access to your encrypted files"
Upon searching i found old threads with the issues such as at :Invalid private key for encryption app. Please update your private key password in your personal settings to recover access to your encrypted files
To temporarily fix the issue I had to follow the instructions by filder at Your private key password no longer matches your log-in password - #2 by privsec
But it raises the question, how safe is it to turn off the default encryption module? Are there alternative modules we can turn on to fix this?
Any idea?
