I use the Ente app for my photos. Now I wanted to set up my Nextcloud as a personal backup.
I have a managed Nextcloud at IONOS (currently only version 29.016, unfortunately). When I upload previously exported photos via the browser on my Mac, they are displayed with the correct date. By this I mean the bold heading in the ‘Photos’ or ‘Media’ display.
However, when I look in my Android app (v 3.32.3), the same photos are displayed under the upload date (i.e. now all August).
But I can’t find a setting that would allow me to change the display. Does anyone have any ideas?
Yes, Install Memories on your server and use the Memories Android app to view your photos on Android. Use the Nextcloud app only for the Auto-Upload (backing up your photos) and for interacting with regular files, or when you need to interact with photos as regular files.
The Nextcloud Android app isn’t a suitable replacement for dedicated photo app, such as Ente. Essentially, it’s a client for the Nextcloud Files app, and the features it offers for managing and interacting with media are quite limited.
