I’ve version 18.02. I use public links for sharing files and folders quite often. Sometimes it would be nice to customize the public link. Is this somehow possible?

Yes, and this has been answered before. You can use the Nextcloud link shortener from the app store:
https://apps.nextcloud.com/apps/sharerenamer

Hmm, anyone tried running it on version 18 yet? You could also run a 3rd party service such as YOURLS on your server. It is great! https://yourls.org/

I beg you a pardon, I forgot to write that I tried sharerenamer but it seems that it does not work on version 18.
