On Nextcloud Contacts, I entered two names, setting the company name and title before I typed in the name field. That looked fine on Nextcloud. However, on the iPhone, I could not find the records by name. I found them by job title, and realized that the iPhone was displaying the company in the name field, not the name.
Workaround: In Nextcloud, Add a detailed name field and re-enter the name there. Delete the name from the name field at the top, then hit save. This then shows up correctly on the iPhone.
This may be the same problem as “Ios cardav contacts without names”.
