Contacts missing in contacts app 4.0.4

Nextcloud version (eg, 20.0.5): Nextcloud 22.2.0
Operating system and version (eg, Ubuntu 20.04): CentOS Linux release 7.9.2009 (Core)
Apache or nginx version (eg, Apache 2.4.25): Apache/2.4.39 (Unix)
PHP version (eg, 7.4): 7.4.26, Memory Limit: 1 GB

The issue you are facing:

I miss my contacts in NC Web-Frontend with contacts app 4.0.4
I don’t know since when as usually I use my mobile devices or desktop app as Thunderbird where my contacts are still there.

Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? (Y/N): Y

Steps to replicate it:

  1. connect to my nextcloud
  2. klick contacts
  3. see nothing


All other apps are working as designed.

The output of your Nextcloud log in Admin > Logging:


The output of your config.php file in /path/to/nextcloud (make sure you remove any identifiable information!):


The output of your Apache/nginx/system log in /var/log/____:


does noebody have an idea how to solve it?

Did you try a different browser or the private mode? Or a different computer. Looks a bit like some resource wasn’t loaded or blocked (Browser extension?)

Just startet a total differen Computer with Microsoft Edge instead of Firefox.
Get the same result.

All is working fine but the visibility of my contacts in the app.

I also checkt it out with different NC users, All the same behavior.

Any ideas?

Can you create contacts on the webinterface and are they still visible afterwards? If not, you can also try on, a test instance, if you have the same issue.

@tflidd No, it’s totaly blanc site in Contacts. No lines, no buttons, it’s blanc, so I’m not able to do anything in this app.

@szaimen I tried to follow as you mentioned but I did not get it.
May I ask you for step by step what I need to do please,

I tried to disable file-sharing and also enabled it again. No change.

Have you any idea what ist wrong maybe?

I theory it should be enough remove the contacts app and install it again…

@szaimen OMG that is so easy, isn’t it?
I thought about it but afraid to loose my contacts.
I see the app only show my database :sweat_smile:
