I’m confused about external storage and how (or if) it can be used client-side. The admin docs are primarily focused on server storage config. I am interested in using a USB drive in combination with the desktop app for user file synchronization.
In my limited testing, the desktop client (Windows, 3.11.X when I was testing a few weeks back) wouldn’t detect a USB thumb drive when it was plugged in, requiring a restart of the client. Is this use-case supported?
More background:
As an individual user, I would like the ability to map an external USB thumb drive to a nextcloud folder. In my specific case, the USB drive is actually an audio recorder. My goal is to be able to hot plug the device, have the client detect and ‘mount’ it. From there, the goal is to use the flow app to move & manage the files in a semi-automated manner.
