Getting help
In order to help you as efficiently (and quickly!) as possible, please fill in as much of the below requested information as you can.
Before clicking submit: Please check if your query is already addressed via the following resources:
- Official documentation (searchable and regularly updated)
- How to topics and FAQs
- Forum search
(Utilizing these existing resources is typically faster. It also helps reduce the load on our generous volunteers while elevating the signal to noise ratio of the forums otherwise arising from the same queries being posted repeatedly).
Hi everyone, I’ve got a problem with the CLI updater which is recommended to use for instances with some more accounts like mine, having around 100 accounts, some are disabled btw.
Now when beginning the update session by opening the nextcloud “updater” dir and issuing the command “sudo -E -u www-data php /MYSTRUCTURE/NC-BASE/nextcloud/updater/updater.phar“ the script tells me this:
Cannot load Zend OPcache - it was already loaded

The problem is that the web gui tells me following:
Version: Nextcloud Hub 25 Autumn (32.0.3)
Update: A new version is available: Nextcloud 32.0.5
So which one is the truth? For the recent updates I have been going with the web updater although knowing it’s not the recommended way.
The Basics
- Nextcloud Server version (e.g., 29.x.x):
32.0.3
- Operating system and version (e.g., Ubuntu 24.04):
Ubuntu 24.04 (dirty in-place-upgrade from 22.04)
- Web server and version (e.g, Apache 2.4.25):
2.4.58-1ubuntu8.8
- Reverse proxy and version _(e.g. nginx 1.27.2)
---
- PHP version (e.g, 8.3):
8.3.6-0ubuntu0.24.04.6
- Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? (Yes / No):
no
- When did this problem seem to first start?
I think after ubuntu in-place-upgrade from 22.04 to 24.04
- Installation method (e.g. AlO, NCP, Bare Metal/Archive, etc.)
BareMetal/Archive/zip-file
- Are you using CloudfIare, mod_security, or similar? (Yes / No)
No

Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):

Preferably I’d like to use the CLI updater again.
