Clamav - what kind of notification when infected?

Hey

I would like to know what happens when clamav finds a virus?
I have the setup to log instead of delete the files but I’m not looking constantly in the log files.
I read somewhere it also sends an email but there is nothing as a setup where it sends the email to (probably admin email?).

Just curious what happens if something is infected (apart from the log file).

Thanks!

Then you know how your setup reacts.

Thanks!

I get “only” an error message through my desktop client (during the upload). Is it also possible to be notified via browser notifications and/or email?

Have a look to this youtube tutorial for a Nextcloud installation on Ubuntu, maybe this might help you to find a solution.

I found it by Google search for “clamav mail notification infected”

Please first check, what the recommended packages do, to prevent from duplicate installations of services.

Thanks for pointing this out. It seems it’s going to be a script to receive an email.

I thought more there is an option somewhere where in the GUI:

Infected files will be deleted and a notification will be shown and/or sent via email

Or is it just when the file gets deleted?
