we have installed NC10.0 (with plans to upgrade of course;) ), but at beginning we don’t know about config share_folder and now, when we have lot of shares between users, we like to change share_folder from “/” to something like “/Shares” - it is possible in this state ? Can I do NC shutdown , change this config, start NC and all clients who seen shares folders in his roots automatically moved to /Shares/ folder ?
I would suspect that it only applies for new shares. To be sure, you’d have to test it in a test setup. Or you read the code, or you wait if perhaps someone did try this before you. Or make a full backup and give it a try (you should be sure that you have a working recovery procedure, especially with server-side encryption I would be very careful and only play on a copy of your original setup).
