Change external storage

Hello,

I use an SMB share in my Nextcloud and the external storage option to synchronize this SMB share with my Nextcloud.

I need to replace the PC on which this SMB share is running and move the SMB to a new PC. The data from the SMB share will be migrated 1:1. If I now change the IP of the external storage in the Nextcloud options, will all links for the files within my Nextcloud change? Or will the file and folder links remain the same?

welcome to the Nextcloud community! :handshake:

in theory as long the external share remain “the same” from NC point of view nothing should change. I would recommend you setup another share with little and unimportant on your old PC, test the migration procedure and if it works proceed with the real data.
