Summary of the issue you are facing:
Hello, a week ago during some tests I had to set a PIN code in the settings of the Nextcloud Android app. Since then, no matter how many times I reinstall the app or clear its data, when I connect it again to my Nextcloud I am forced to create a new PIN code, with no option to remove it. Is there any way to disable it, please?
Hmmm, that’s strange. I have three options there:
Passcode
Device Credentials
None
I personally have ‘Device credentials’ enabled, but I was able to disable it by selecting ‘None’ and then re-enable it without issue.
I also set a passcode as a test and then switched it back to ‘None’ – no issues there either.
Each time I changed or disabled the currently active method, the app asked me to authenticate once more using the existing method. After that, the newly selected option became active — or none, respectively
Yes i remember having those before my tests but since then, passcode became the only option available on my device even after reinstalling and clearing data
