Cant deactivate u2f properly

Hey Together,
i hope someone of could give me hint or maybe can help me. I have a problem with deactivating u2f addon. I wanted to deactivate it to test my fido 2 stick. But for whatever reason it is still asking me for the backup codes after deactivating the u2f addon.
I have access from other sessions and also the Backup codes so it is not a drama but i am wondering.
Best regards
niba

Nextcloud version (eg, 20.0.5): 22.2.3 Snap
Operating system and version (eg, Ubuntu 20.04): Ubuntu 20.04
Apache or nginx version (eg, Apache 2.4.25): snap version
PHP version (eg, 7.4): 7.x (snap)

The issue you are facing:
when i disable the u2f app and then i try to log into my NC it tells me that my account has still enabled a 2fa requirement and i have to use my backup codes. I used one to check that this is not a onetime message. I will come on every login attempt.

Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? (Y/N): Y

Steps to replicate it:

  1. Deactivate u2f
  2. try to login

Hi @niba

Did you remove your U2F device under Settings → Personal → Security before you disabled the addon?

Sometimes i think i should not work with computers .
Thank you very Much this was the Solution
