We get a date tag when a shared file/folder has been viewed but this does not mean that the data was downloaded by the recipient, they just need to have clicked the link to create the date flag.
Is this something that can be tracked? (ideally remotely using the API)
We need to store that info in our local database to remind the users who did not download after a few weeks before deleting the data.
