I am facing a (for me) strange behavior when using the calendar editor and I am not sure if this is desired/expected behavior or a bug:
Preface: I have Nextcloud accounts for my kids and put their appointments into their calendar. The accounts of my kids both have a mail account assigned; if I log in into their account, I can create an appointment and invite some people and they will get a invitation by mail from the mail account of my kids. As currently only my wife and me are maintaining the appointments in the kids calendars, the calendars are shared with both me and my wife for editing.
Steps to reproduce:
- Log in with my personal account
- Create a new calendar entry.
- Switch the calendar in which the entry should be created in to the shared calendar of “Kid A”
- Add “Kid A” as a participant of the meeting
- Both myself and “Kid A” appear as participants
- Click the three-dot menu beside my name and select “Make Kid A the organizer of the meeting”
- I am automatically removed as a participant of the meeting
- As my wife should go with “Kid A” to the appointment, I add her as a participant
The issue:
As soon as I add my wife as participant, the whole editor switches into a read-only mode so that I can’t change e.g. the description or the meeting time. It also doesn’t matter, if I add a Nextcloud internal user or an external attendee by email address.
Nevertheless, I can click on save and then create the appointment. If I then re-open the calendar entry, I can not edit it - despite that I have edit permissions on the calendar and I can edit other appointments in the calendar.
My question:
Is this behavior intentional and follows a logic that I don’t understand? Or is this a bug?
(Disclaimer: My Nextcloud UI is in german so potentially some texts/labels are not exactly correct.)
