Are you seeing all 8000 show up in your Uploads tab after you configure an auto upload entry? Just trying to understand what you mean when say “it wants to”.
One thing that comes to mind is that it is real easy to inadvertently activate an auto upload entry before finishing the configuration. When that happens it uses the default settings. And by the time you fix them and re-save, the upload queue is already populated based.
Without any ability for me to control the behaviour
Managed to auto upload a few new pics at the end of the job last night successfully
Now auto upload just completely inactive
Taken half a dozen pics this morning on the phone, which Memories sees with cloud icons with crosses in them, however no upload. Have tried adjusting the settings, no joy.
Any tips gratefully received, really need this to work
Have a look to the target folder in “Uploads” of the app. Sometimes the app changes the target folder from “Photos” to “Photos/year/Month/storage/emulated/0/dcim/picture-folder”.
If this folder does not exist, it must be created manually with the whole folder tree.
After upload and reboot of the device the pictures will be stored in the original upload-folder again (I have this problem one time per month since Google started to limit write access for 3rd party alls at the beginning of this year with all versions of Nextcloud Android App).
There is no way to reupload the folder at the moment. Upload whole folder checkbox only fires at first ever upload. Then it’s completely ignored. Ticking it on/off or whole folder on/off won’t make it work.
It’s been discussed for long - the app needs two options per folder - keep up now (upload new now) and reupload now.
