Its time for another big update!
The newest Audio Player had some big rework - all for flexibility and performance.
APIs
APIs enable separate apps to utilise the Eventdispatcher or registerSidebarTab to hook into AP
Due to this modular approach, non core features were moved to own add-on apps:
- SONOS player
- ID3 Editor
- Dashboard widget (release pending)
Performance!
AP was tuned for performance and was tested with huge libraries like 40k files
- UI was moved from jQuery to vanilla JS, which resulted in a responsiveness of >70%
- Metadata transfers were reduced in size by >45%
- Scanner performance was improvement by >20% by utilising database batching and commits
Features
A toggle between Cover and List view (same as files app) is now available for every category selection
