Nextcloud 30 (Hub 9) was released. By default, existing apps are not compatible with the new version yet and must be tested (and perhaps fixed). Many apps are supported by community users working on the apps in their free time.
You can try to enable an app by clicking enable manually in the app overview (as an admin). Please leave a feedback on the bug tracker of an app if your test was successful (for follow-ups, leave a ) or leave a report with the errors you encountered.
Here is an auto-generated list of apps that were compatible with previous versions of Nextcloud but are not supported for NC 30. This list is contineously updated:

There are already 249 apps for NC 30
Does this mean that it is better not to update from version 29 to 30, but to carry out a new installation of version 30 instead and then only transfer the data?
No, because it makes no difference. Both is the wrong way. You have to understand that it is Nextcloud 30.0.0. If you have productive systems, you should check whether all the apps you need are actually already supported. In addition, most people with productive Nextcloud instances will only switch to Nextcloud 30 with Nextcloud 30.0.1, for example. Nextcloud 30.0.0 is the first stable Nextcloud 30 release and there are a lot of bugs and missing apps.
If you look at here for example, Nextcloud 30.0.1 is not due until 2024-10-10. If you have a productive system, it is better to wait a few more weeks or months. If you really need the new features, you will have to live with the current restrictions. Maybe you can test Nextcloud 30 on a test system.
Looking at the list and clicking on the beetle, it looks like the “Custom Menu” is “Side Menu”?
I have enabled the “incompatible” app since the recent update to NC 30 and it is working very similarly but the main issue is that the top menu is now gone and I have to throw those apps in the side menu.
I hope this can be fixed as there really isn’t any other options to customize the menus in Nextcloud which makes it hard from a branding and convenience standpoint. I am not much of a coder and wish I could contribute in that way.
