Calendar version: 4.7.6
Nextcloud version: 29.0.2
Most of my events come from an external system, and Nextcloud subscribes to these to show them in my calendar.
But the appointments feature ignores these events, so I can’t use it. I thought I might have to specify the calendar under “Additional calendars to check for conflicts” but the “select” widget is greyed out; won’t list anything.

Same here!
You can easily show external calendars in C by subscribing to them but they do not appear in the “additional calendars to check” which is basically the sole reason I even subscribe to them in NC.
Usecase:
- use NC as a booking platform
- have a local calendar (in my case, Mac/apple) where your personal or even familial events are
- of course, your bookings-calendar from NC must respect unavailable slots from those calendars
Result:
not possible. You have to duplicate every single event or dump Apples calendar and use only NC
What is the issue? Why is this not available as a possibility? It is not about editing those (subscribed to) calendars which is not possible. It is about reading those.
It looks like there is an app that require paid contribution to access some of its really interesting features. but i think it responds to the issue you raised.

Hope it helps
i’d rather go with this release of the app Appointments - Apps - App Store - Nextcloud
and I dunno of any “paid contribution to get access to its really interesting features”
The link in my comment refers to the same app. There are some functionalities (atleast for me in my homelab installation) such as activating lobby, room password, etc that required you to have a contributer key.
This “contributer key” is paid i guess.
If i seem to be missing something here, do let me know. It would be nice to have the lobby feature which is the only feature keeping me away from this app
it IS the same app. But why getting (anmd maybe installing) the code from an external page when you can catch it from the official nextclould appstore?
maybe it’s still beta? offering a contributor-key for payment would be completely new to me.
So on the link you posted first there’s a possibility to contact the dev directly. why not doing that asking them about said contributor-key?

I’ve installed it from the official nextcloud appstore. but exploring the features of the app i came across this contributor-key.
If you click the ‘homepage’ link in the appointments app (available in the nextcloud appstore) - resources section it takes you to the link i shared…
Haha… thats where i made the connection between contribution as in ‘payment’ cause thats the only place i see contribution mentioned. oh and github to contribute as a developer.
I’ll think i will get in touch with the developer. not sure why i didnt think of it before. Thanks @JimmyKater
