CloudRaid is a concept of using raid methods on cloud storage.
If nextcloud could serve as a CloudRaid server, it could connect several external storage providers to one storage and enable storing data in a secure way on 3rd party cloud providers.
I am not aware of any implementation of this, but the concept is quite old already:

I am not a dev unfortunately, but I think this would make a good backup solution for example
