API for generating App Password

Hey guys,

is there a way for an external app to

  1. implement NC framework due to
  2. generate a user-specific app password

to authenticate an user with its username and its app-specific password?

There is no public API for this at the moment.

Is it possible for a NC app? If yes: How?
