Auto file sync on android has not worked for me for a very long time so I settled for selecting files and sharing to nextcloud and that was working good for me mostly but just a little inconvenient.
The recent update has done something that doesn’t allow me to use android to select to upload anything, or to sync, or to share to nextcloud as I once did.
I ran into something similar after an update. Before assuming it’s a bug, I’d check a couple of things:
If none of that helps, it would be useful to know your Android version, the Nextcloud app version, and whether this started immediately after updating. That information will make it much easier to tell if it’s a recent regression or something specific to your device.

I have Android 16 on Galaxy A54 phone.
App version is whatever is on google, they don’t want to tell me, nor does the app itself at least I can’t find it.
I tried auto uploads, sync, create custom folders, select a gallery image and share to nextcloud.
Once everything just worked easily, then features started to fail to the point that I could only share and select nextcloud then a folder, but not that doesn’t even work.
I’ll keep playing with it.
I seem to be able to go to a folder on and android and select sync and this will start doing some massive file syncing, but I don’t want that so I cancel it. So it’s talking with sync somehow.
Also some pics I took yesterday appeared in the instantuploads/Camera folder which is good but not sure why. I never used it this way and auto upload isn’t setup for using that folder anywhere.
But hey at least I can connect so now maybe I can sort out why it’s like this.
UPDATE:
So my Link To Windows also busted, and I reset that too which is good for mostly messenger for me while on pc.
So that seems to free up my InstantUploads/Camera folder and I was able to delete the files on the nextcloud and the android and tested some pics and sync to Camera. This is working now.
However, the share feature of files/folders is not. I’ll keep testing to see if there is something I can find. Likely could just be cache and reset settings or something as you mentioned.
On android when viewing the /Camera folder and “All files” are selected there are no files as before.
However, selecting “Media” the Photos and videos appear to be there. This is a strange development and I’ve never had to select Media before for any reason I could just see everything under “All files”.
OMG lol it’s different everytime.
Now I go to Camera folder on the Android and “All files” shows nothing but if I select newest instead of A-Z then BOOM they appear, then I can select A-Z or anything and they sort and are there when “All files” is selected again.
NO idea why.
