Android app no longer auto-uploads pictures

Hi,

Since a few days, my android app doesn’t auto-upload my pictures anymore, while this worked fine before.
App version is 3.32.2

The behavior is this:

  • I take a picture from my phone.
  • I’m on Wifi, so upload should happen.
  • When I check the “Uploads” section, I see my file, but with the message that the local file could not be found. There is a correct thumbnail, and the file is still there.
  • When I try to manually upload the same file from the Nextcloud app I get the same error.
  • When I share the file from the photo app, to Nextcloud, the upload does work…

I remember there was an issue with the Android app a while ago related to permissions, because Google changed something in that area. So it looks like a file permission issue, but didn’t that get fixed at some point?

I checked the permissions for the app, and it has access to all files, so I don’t see what’s wrong.

I would like to know this as well. I’m also having issues uploading from Android, but the web interface has no issues at all. I also get webdav logs about it not being able to find a file/photo I manually uploaded. I just set up Nextcloud for the first time several days ago and thought it was just me messing up, until today.

Auto upload has stopped working · Issue #14945 · nextcloud/android · GitHub does this sound like your issue? Maybe you can contribute some logs.

Does the Android app have logs?
Because it doesn’t look like it manages to even start the upload.
