I switched from Dropbox to Nextcloud for saving my images from my iPhone to my Desktop. For a while it worked fine. Now I think there was an update or something so for some reason, the image-upload was switched off in the iPhone app.
I figured that out after two weeks but now I have the problem that I can either switch it on from now on or for my complete foto library. Since I don’t want to miss out the last two weeks I have to reupload the whole fotolibrary (arg) again (or is there any other way??)! So I did that … took around a week because it was not a smooth process. Files get stuck, even when removed from my desktop-folder, they re-appear, so I have to delete them manually on the ftp server. The app gets very laggy and if I go to Activities and click on “transfer”, I get a incredibly long list which is very hard to navigate since it doesn’t scroll smoothly but hangs all the time. Why isn’t there a summary at the top like “309 more files to go, estimates time: 20:31 minutes” or something. I found one at the bottom, but it is almost impossible to scroll there if the list ist longer than 100 entries.
Then the app can’t handle the big file amounts it seems. It hangs and crashed all the time, it really is a lot of work making it work again.
Then when I click on “Activate image upload”, all options are greyed out. Why the hell is that? Now I fear that if I want to change an option, it will again start from today and forget about all the files that (still) uploading. The interface communicates very poorly what is to be expected.
Don’t get me wrong: I love the NextCloud system. I love what you guys do, so many thanks to you all! Because I love it so much, I figured it’s worth my time to give some feedback in hope that it helps somewhere.
