Did the birthday feature go away? I’m on v29.

I’m not sure if the OP was asking to add birthday to own account… I don’t think this is possible…

In general birthday can be added to contacts and birthday calendar still exists in nc29

Ahh, thanks! Sounds like the confusion is that you can’t do it on your user profile, only on contacts you’ve created yourself, which I’ll refer to as “untethered”. Strange functionality. Seems like people should be able to include the birthday on their profile and decide who can see it.

I’ve searched the help files and I don’t see much info about this. Also, I’m playing around with Address Books and I’ve shared an “untethered” contect with a fellow user (B). That untethered birthday doesn’t show up on B’s calendar, but it shows up on mine.

Where exactly can you do that? Nowhere in contacts do I have a button “add more info”. Most people simply appear by their email address and do not have much more information than their federated cloud-ID.

I think the requested feature is coming with Nextcloud 30, aka Nextcloud Hub 9: feat(ldap): sync additional properties to profile and SAB by st3iny · Pull Request #45512 · nextcloud/server · GitHub
