"2006 MySQL server has gone away" upon first-time login screen

Hi

Just spent hours trying to solve this and no success. No need to explain that I looked at similar posts in this forum but none helped.

When I’m trying to create an admin account for the first time I get the message “2006 MySQL server has gone away”.

Under file my.cnf:

wait_timeout = 600
max_allowed_packet = 16M

System details:

OS: Debian 8; mysql Ver 15.1 Distrib 10.2.12-MariaDB; Nextcloud Ver 12.0.5
HW: Intel i3 1.8Ghz 4GB RAM, 24GB SSD (for the OS) and 500GB HDD

Server is also running NAS (OpenMediaVault)

Any help will be much appreciated!

Did you check the logfiles of your database server?

Thanks, I have managed to solve this, after I reviewed again the DB parameters.
