I would like to know if it’s possible to use nextcloud/calendar app as a client for another caldav server? I think I have read that it is, but I can’t find it now that I’m looking. We have another server implementation of caldav, and if we can hook into it that would be nice. Not just as ics (I see how to do that), but full read/write of remote calendar events (on other server).
Thanks

It’s not, but it would possible to fork it and make it possible.

No that’s not possible, except that you can subscribe to an read-only iCal calendar. This has already been discussed here:
Hello All,
I just installed NextCloud 14. Since i already run a tine20 groupware solution, with a complete calendar management, i would like not to enter all dates in two systems - it would be much more comfortable to just sync the nextcloud calender with the external tine20 calender using a caldav address. Since NexCloud Calender offer the possiblility to sync clients against caldav i hope it’s not so difficult to let nextcloud calender also be a client for other resources ??
Best Regards

Nice to have
It would be nice if the nextcloud calendar and address book were able to subscri… be to other sources, as for example provided by employers or public services like Google.
A way to "mount" external calendars and address books just like it is possible to mount external storage would be a great way to create a sustainable/hybrid infrastructure.
I would recommend to use Vdirsyncer to synchronize your calendar databases.
