[Solved] OC 10.0.4.4 -> NC 12.0.3 gives "Updates between multiple major versions and downgrades are unsupported"

I’m not able to run the “updater” script (“No no update available”) nor a manual update (“Updates between multiple major versions and downgrades are unsupported.”). My guess is that OC 1.0.4.4 is not yet supported by the migration tools?

Is there a way to migrate despite this?

owncloud 10.0.4 is not yet supported and you need to use the migration tool because Nextcloud and ownCloud version differently.

Hi Bernhard,

As indicated above, the migration tool (https://server/nextcloud/updater/index.php) refused to upgrade, with the message “No update available”.

I ended up starting from scratch, creating a new MySQL database specifically for NextCloud (rather than using the owncloud one), recreating all the users, and reindexing all files. I lost backups of said files, but I’ll live.

They fixed a couple of things in the migration tool and it should work:

A fresh start is always an option, at least you don’t migrate old problems into your new setup :wink:
