Setting up nextcloud on an Ubuntu server

Ah right! I got the two mixed up all the time, so no worries. I actually got you right because I had it wrong in my head too, if that makes any sense…

This is the level of expertise and deep dives into indirect NC infrastructure, which is needed in order to make this product even better. Thank you for taking the time to both analyse - but more important for the project and the community - to detailed explain these details.
It greatly helps to improve the experience of Nextcloud and to eliminate misunderstandings and misconceptions. And it helps to improve the recommendations and documentation as well as (hopefully) the tutorials.

I had a well running instance of NC30. Upon upgrading to Ubuntu 24.04, the whole thing went horribly wrong.

Unfortunately, this script replaced 8.3 and installed 8.2, further worsening my problems. There were some details within the script that were quite useful; information I wish were clearly available elsewhere.

Even from the short snippets above, you very clearly understand PHP much better than the average developer, let alone the average person installing NC. I just wish information like that were available in the NC installation docs so the average user doesn’t needlessly bog down their instance, nor create additional headache.
