Did you benchmark the two backends?
What about the bbb features like mute-others; upload-presentation; webinar-mode, record-session?

@ramezrafla indeed it’s a pity to hear this. BBB currently has more features than Nextcloud has at this moment. And it can help very much for getting users to start with Nextcloud if other video conferencing apps are integrated in Nextcloud.
please take note that there still is another app dealing with integration of BBB
so even if @ramezrafla is shelving his project there hopefully will be some progress with that app.

Our objective was to have a video conferencing solution we can host (and not pay for it like it was with before the NC Talk server was open-sourced). The iOS and Android Talk apps are well-integrated with the NC server (for example it rings when a call comes through). The NC Server itself is more efficient and can host more users (BBB is a mesh of many services, while NC Server is a Go multiplexer with Janus).
Our BBB fork completed its objective: getting an open-source video conferencing solution. We believe the pressure put by having alternatives risked NC losing its edge with its own solution. Especially that we were forking the original Talk so had the same features (except mobile app).
In short, we got what we wanted.
It’s very easy to continue our development. We are happy to transfer the project to someone else.

yes, that is a very mature and promising app; just some minutes ago, a new release has just been posted.
