Finally I found the solution via looking into the apache2 error log, which said “Password Mismatch”.
Again I tried to change the pw for the webui via ncp-config (CONFIGURE/nc-passwd). There seems to be a trick: After providing the new pw in both lines, I hit TAB to move the cursor into the field “Start” and only then hit ENTER.
