Gmail authentication issue

Trying to use gmail smtp I get this error message:

A problem occurred while sending the email. Please revise your settings. (Error: Failed to authenticate on SMTP server with username "myemail@gmail.com" using 1 possible authenticators)

I then get an email from gmail saying - “Google just blocked someone from signing into your Google account myemail@gmail.com from an app that may put your account at risk.”

I can allow a less secure app but would prefer not to –

If you can not access your Gmail account use https://accounts.google.com/DisplayUnlockCaptcha to unlock your account.

Unfortunately, I see no other way :confused:

If you still need help:

Go to https://myaccount.google.com/apppasswords, generate a password and use that one in the authentication config with mode ‘ssl’ and port ‘465’
