There is no exclusion of certain devices. It is only the restriction of Apple for using different browser engines. But of course you can customize the software so that it runs on outdated and apple-restricted software again.
Luckily it was a rather easy fix 
we will publish it with the upcoming 4.2 release (some time before NC29)
