App list not available?

Hi,

I updated to Nextcloud 18 yesterday and can’t access the “app store” from within my NC server, meaning that I can list all my installed, enabled and disabled apps, but I don’t see the other apps from the store I would like to download and install.

Whenever I open “Apps” as admin, I get the following error message:

[appstoreFetcher] Warning: GuzzleHttp\Exception\RequestException: cURL error 60: SSL: no alternative certificate subject name matches target host name 'api.nextcloud.com' (see http://curl.haxx.se/libcurl/c/libcurl-errors.html) at <<closure>>

The relevant information here is: no alternative certificate subject name matches target host name 'api.nextcloud.com'

Even when I try to access api.nextcloud.com via Firefox, the connection is blocked by Firefox and the browser informs me the website is unsafe, because the certificate does not match. So the same why Nextcloud (or more specific curl) doesn’t connect to that site.
I was thinking that this might be a problem on my side, because I couldn’t find any reports about this issue here in the forum or on github, but even ssllabs report the same issue and doesn’t initiate the scan:
DeepinScreenshot_select-area_20200119011928

So no-one else is having this issue? Any ideas why I have this issue and how I could solve it?

NC 18 (upgraded from 17.0.2)
PHP 7.4
PHP-fpm 7.4
nginx 1.16.1
Arch-Linux

In case somebody is running into the same issue after an upgrade, here is the solution.
For some reason I got an entry for ‘appstoreurl’ in my config.php in the past - and I believe that entry was added automatically during an update.
So the entry was:
'appstoreurl' => 'https://api.nextcloud.com/v1'

I removed this line from my config.php completely and that solved the problem; I can see all apps, can install new apps and update my installed apps again.

So solution is: remove the entry for ‘appstoreurl’ from the config.php and just reload the Apps page in Nextcloud to see all apps again.

The url https://api.nextcloud.com/v1 can be found in the administrator guide under the paragraph which describes the setup of a custom app store. It might be a good idea to remove the url from the example and use a non-existent one instead.

Not working. I do not have this entry. My nextcloud version is 24.0.1.

Not working. I do not have this entry. My Nextcloud version is 26.0.0.11

I have this error too in Fedora. I’ve solved this before but can’t remember how it went. Probably a missing folder or permission on the local filesystem.

I noticed this today and in the config.php file, I removed an entry for an app override and the full app list came back.

This is what I removed:

'app_install_overwrite' =>
  array (
    0 => 'some app I installed before',
  ),
