Title: Windows 11 freeze a few minutes after login (since ~27.03 release)
Description:
After updating the Nextcloud Desktop Client, multiple Windows 11 systems become unresponsive a few minutes after boot/login.
Environment:
-
OS: Windows 11 (multiple systems, 4 devices affected)
-
Nextcloud Desktop Client: version released around 27.03 (exact version unknown, latest at that date)
-
Setup: standard sync client with existing sync folders
Steps to reproduce:
-
Boot Windows 11
-
Let system idle for a few minutes after login
-
Nextcloud client starts automatically and begins syncing
-
System becomes very slow or freezes (Explorer sometimes unresponsive)
Observed behavior:
-
System freeze or heavy slowdown after a few minutes
-
Often coincides with Nextcloud sync start
-
Explorer may hang
Expected behavior:
- Stable system behavior during and after sync
Workaround:
-
Downgrading the Nextcloud Desktop Client to an earlier version (e.g. early March release) resolves the issue completely
-
Disabling autostart also prevents the freeze
Additional notes:
-
Issue reproducible on 4 independent systems
-
Strong indication of regression in recent release
