Why is it so hard to get nextcloud to just send out email invites to calander meetings?

Getting help

In order to help you as efficiently (and quickly!) as possible, please fill in as much of the below requested information as you can.

Before clicking submit: Please check if your query is already addressed via the following resources:

Nobody has answered this in a way that actually solves the problem.

(Utilizing these existing resources is typically faster. It also helps reduce the load on our generous volunteers while elevating the signal to noise ratio of the forums otherwise arising from the same queries being posted repeatedly).

Some or all of the below information will be requested if it isn’t supplied; for fastest response please provide as much as you can.

Summary of the issue you are facing:

Calendar invites are not sent in Nextcloud.

Steps to replicate it (hint: details matter!):

  1. Open thunderbird.
  2. Make a invite in calendar.
  3. Calendar is synced with cloud, does not sent invites.

Log entries

None.

Nextcloud

None avaliable.

#### Web Browser

#### Web server / Reverse Proxy

The output of your Apache/nginx/system log in `/var/log/____`:

Which one, this question is nonsensical.

### Configuration

#### Nextcloud

The output of `occ config:list system` or similar is best, but, if not possible, the contents of your `config.php` file from `/path/to/nextcloud` is fine (make sure to remove any identifiable information!):

sudo: occ: command not found

#### Apps

### Tips for increasing the likelihood of a response

* Use the `preformatted text` formatting option in the editor for all log entries and configuration output.
* If screenshots are useful, feel free to include them.
  - If possible, also include key error output in text form so it can be searched for.
* Try to edit log output only minimally (if at all) so that it can be ran through analyzers / formatters by those trying to help you.

If the server is not sending email, you should check the relevant chapter of the Admin Guide and provide details about your email configuration etc.

Only what I set is here.
Calendar notifications work fine.

Hello, thank you for your reply. Apologies for the frustration, it says “Email Sent”

But when I look at the calendar it says, email not sent next to the names on the invite.

The invitees say they do not receive the email.

It is very confusing.

What other information would be useful here and how could I get access to it.

There appears to be many logs with different names.

If you received the Email sent message in the web interface, can you confirm whether the test email actually arrived in your admin email inbox?

Your reply doesn’t mention whether the email was successfully delivered.

And also - Initial Email-Test fails

What are you seeing in the Logs?
