Why cant User B rename and move a by User A shared folder?

Steps to replicate it:

  1. User A shares folder to User B
  2. User B sees that folder in root.
  3. User B cant move or rename it to anywhere else

Makes no sense to me. Every uploaded folder should be handled invisible to any file system stuff. Means a hash and id for every file / folder.

A shared folder should be a virtual copy pointing to the same data, no matter where its located in User B’s home and no matter how he names that folder.

What you are looking for is a Group Folder. https://apps.nextcloud.com/apps/groupfolders

Tag both users (A and B) in a common group says “Staff” and then create a group folder for “Staff”
