Why 33.0.5 earlier than expected

Hello,
Could you please explain why there is a 33.0.5 release version published earlier than expected?
I read the changelog and saw mainly i8n modification.

I didn’t know where to ask about it so, if a place is better than here, could you please tell me.

Best regards,
Rastapopoulos

I can’t provide an official statement.

However, it appears that Nextcloud 33.0.4 was withdrawn due to a bug with Talk notifications, and 33.0.5 was released outside the normal release cycle as a hotfix release.

As for why this isn’t mentioned anywhere on the website, and why the banner here is still telling people to update to 33.0.4, my guess is that it’s simply because the website is a corporate site where changes tend to be reflected with a bit of a delay. It’s also possible that the people responsible for updating it are currently busy preparing the release of Nextcloud 34 and organizing the conference that goes along with it.

But that’s just speculation on my part. In any case, I’ve installed 33.0.5 and haven’t noticed any issues so far.

As far as I know it fixes at least a bug in the notifications app that hit all other apps that use notifications

For reference, here’s the corresponding GitHub issue:

And yes, @Chartman123 is correct, apparently all apps using push notifications were affected, not just Talk.
