What is the easiest way to upgrade from Nextcloud Hub 25 Autumn to Hub 26 Winter in AIO?

Hi everyone,

I would like to ask what is currently the easiest and recommended way to upgrade a Nextcloud AIO instance from Nextcloud Hub 25 Autumn to Nextcloud Hub 26 Winter.

My current setup is:

  • Nextcloud AIO mastercontainer: 13.0.2 Beta
  • Nextcloud: 32.0.9
  • Current AIO channel: Beta

From what I can see, there is currently no direct option in the AIO interface to manually trigger this major upgrade to Hub 26 Winter.

I found this GitHub discussion:

However, that comment is from January 2026, so I am not sure whether this is still the current recommended method, or whether there is now a simpler / safer way to do the upgrade.

Has anyone here already upgraded an AIO instance from Hub 25 Autumn to Hub 26 Winter?

I would be interested in your experience, especially:

  • whether the GitHub method is still valid,
  • whether there is now a newer recommended approach,
  • whether the upgrade should appear automatically in AIO after some time,
  • and whether there are any known issues or things to watch out for before starting the upgrade.

I am mainly trying to avoid doing this in a more complicated way if there is already a cleaner AIO-supported path available.

Wait until it’s officially released and then just update normally?

Why wouldn’t it be? The AIO admin interface still points to it.

Not that I’m aware of.

I would expect so once AIO 13 is officially released, just like with previous major updates.

Well, I guess mostly Nextcloud 33 issues and app incompatibilities you can find on GitHub or in the forum. AIO 13 itself will likely work just fine.

Then I’d simply wait until it’s officially released.
