What does Delete vote when switched to "No" do?

Hi,
I don’t get the « Delete vote when switched to “No” » option in a poll’s configuration.

I would have thought that in a date poll, an option would disappear when someone puts “no” on a date… but that was not it. Thanks in advance for clarification

PS: found a description in french here: ne prend pas en compte les votes non, aucune croix n’apparaît dans la case, but that does not seem right.

It removes the vote from the database, as if the vote was never casted, instead of saving the vote as ‘no’.
