Weird files I have never seen before appearing from nowhere

I have a Nextcloud-pi running at home. It works like a charm. However, recently I have experienced weird events.

When I created a new folder using the Linux Desktop app, files appeared instantaneously inside the new folder before adding any content. The weird files do not exist on my computer, and I have never seen them before. In some cases, the files are very old–in one event, they were a 22 years old version of python scripts from Twisted Matrix Laboratories. In another weird event, I created a new folder and several subfolders with scientific articles in PDF appeared. See images below. I took my pi off the wall. Has anyone seen this happening before?

Without additional information the community members cannot help you.
