WebDAV does not lock MS Office files

Nextcloud version (eg, 20.0.5): 27.1.5
Operating system and version (eg, Ubuntu 20.04): Debian GNU/Linux 11 (bullseye)
Apache or nginx version (eg, Apache 2.4.25): Apache 2
PHP version (eg, 7.4): PHP 8.2.14

The issue you are facing:

Is this the first time you’ve seen this error? (Y/N): Y

User A creates a New document file.xlsx works in it, User B logs into it and starts working too.
As a result, user A does not save the changes.
Both work through a WebDAV drive, not through an application.

How can I prevent users from opening the same file via WebDAV?

Install and use the Temporary files lock app

Thanks for the answer, but there is one question.
Does it extend to Webdav and block Word files on webdav if you try to open it?

To be honest I cannot answer that question because my envioronment is to small to run into file editing collisions, but from the description I would assume that it is exactly what you’re looking for.

I checked again, it turns out I misunderstood you. “Temporary files lock” helped me solve this problem, thanks for the hint.
