Very basic question - share folder AND contents

This is a very basic question but I am confused.

I created a Group.

I created a folder and I upload the content of that folder so all good.

However, when I share I notice that I share the folder and not the contents so I have to share one by one each sub folder within the main folder…

My question is - how do I simply allow sharing for the ENTIRE folder and everything within that folder?

Would I solve this using “Group Folders” - does that mean that everything within that parent folder would be shared?

I think there’s something wrong with my install but I am unable to get any sharing going here at all??? If I create a Group Folder, I can see it in everyone’s account but not on the actual local machine. I’m really struggling with NextCloud - is there some basic setting that prevents basic sharing functionality?
