It would be nice to deliver a different document versioning control other than the one that can be actually enabled.
One that would give a new version number to a document, incrementing it, maintaining the old versions, even if hidden to non administrators.
It could also enable in some folders, who could be pinned up, like official internal documents.

Not sure if an automatic version numbering system would work well as there are millions of ways this could become confusing when documents are edited outside of the nextcloud or another version numbering system in the file name for example is used.
Having an official documents folder, similar to the announcements plugin would be definitely useful though. You can of course do it with a separate group an a read only folder shared, but if this folder was somehow highlighted or treated a bit different than others, that would be definitely a nice usability improvement.
