in the requirements I read that Ubuntu 18.04 is required, does that mean that lower versions of Ubuntu will not work?
Lots of vendors sell vserver that do not have the latest OS.

As usual Nextcloud is working with all kind of OSes and versions, but the developers couldn’t test all of it, therefore naming at least one reference system which they’ve tested.
