Users cannot log in, and server time not set

Greetings,

I have nextcloud 30 installed on a web hosting account I can configure with Cpanel

I can log in as admin user, no problem. However, none of the normal user accounts can log in, they always get “wrong login or password”, even when the password is surely right.

I have searched the forum here, and it seems the reason may be timezone configuration issues. Indeed, as shown in screenshot of the nextcloud Admin/System settings panel, the server time (“ora del server”) is blank.

However, I cannot see how to set it from the nextcloud web interface, or in cpanel.

I have already opened a ticket with the web hosting company, to help on the cpanel side. My questions here are:

  1. can I set the server time from that interface?
  2. what if the user login problem is something else? How can I debug and fix it? And what other info should I provide here, exactly?

Thanks

The system date/time is a setting for the whole server. The hosting company should keep their system’s time in sync, and since there are different customers on their server, they don’t let you or any customer set the time individually. Therefore, you’d need at least a virtual server.

and the log files show more information? I was thinking if some modules are not available or blocked? Or some file permissions, database, …

The support template is a good start. It even gives guidance for how to check your logs.
